Arthur M. Nezu, PhD, DHL, ABPP, Project Co-Director
Dr. Nezu is Distinguished University Professor of Psychology, Professor of Medicine, and Professor of Community Health & Prevention at Drexel University and the Co-Director/Developer of New Beginnings. He is the recipient of multiple awards from various professional organizations, including an honorary doctoral degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Nezu is a licensed and board certified clinical psychologist and a previous subject matter expert to the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense, and the U.S. Air Force. His clinical research and program development activities over the past several decades has primarily focused on the negative effects of life stress and how to combat them. Dr. Nezu's father was a WWII army veteran and a recipient of a Purple Heart. Several of his parents' family also served in WWII.

Chris Maguth Nezu, PhD, ABPP, is Professor of Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences, and Professor of Medicine in Drexel’s College of Medicine. She is the Co-Director/Developer of New Beginnings, a licensed and board certified psychologist, and previous president of the American Board of Professional Psychology, the national organization that awards board certification in 13 professional psychology specialties. She also served as a subject matter expert to the Department of Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Air Force, as well as a Program Consultant for the Joint Programs of the Departments of Veterans Affairs and Defense. Dr. Maguth Nezu is the recipient of multiple awards, including one for Outstanding Contributions to Training and Education by the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies. She also has family members who served in the military during WWII.
Jenna Damico, BS, Project Coordinator
Ms. Damico is a graduate of Drexel University having received a BS in psychology with honors.
New Beginnings Program Providers
Providers include advanced psychology graduate students currently working towards a PhD degree in clinical psychology. Several have previous or current affiliations with VA training centers and military hospitals.
